Classes Going Online Thursday Aug 29

Postby tanouye » Wed Aug 28, 2013 3:13 pm

Check back at 10pm on Wed Aug 28 for a final list and to see when these courses will go online.

Please do not request or ask about other classes in this thread.

If you'd like to request a specific time on Tuesday for these courses to go online, please do so below, but BE SPECIFIC. List the teacher, level, day and time you're asking about. There may only be one course by Teacher X when you ask, but I may add several more courses before Sunday night.

You should request the times for courses to go online BEFORE 10pm on Monday. You can request a time for a class to go online as soon as you see it listed here.

Generally, I won't put two classes online at the same time - because then if you're trying to get into, say, an Improv 201, you could get shut out of multiple instances. But if one goes online at 1pm and sells out, then that's 16 fewer people trying to get into one that goes online at 2pm, for example. So if somebody's requested a class at one time and you want a different class at the same time, it will help to request a slightly different time. For example if someone requested Class A to go online at 12:00pm noon, you might request Class B to go online at 12:05pm. It will help if you do this because I don't know how much wiggle room you have in your requests, and would have to guess otherwise.

I won't be posting the links here as soon as they go online. To see them as soon as they become available, check this page:

All courses available for registration will appear there.

More specifically, when it says "not first come first serve" and "application required", does that mean writers will be required to submit a packet or is it as simple as signing up a soon as the class is posted and waiting for the registrar to check if we are approved for advanced study? Is it possible to be rejected after signing up or is approval for advanced study all that is required?

No packet. Students will submit names via online form (same as used in ASH courses) and the teacher will select students based on previous evaluations.

Hi Erik,

I'm only asking because it says Advanced Study Sketch Performance—do actors need to have completed an ASH, or can I apply if I haven't been in any ASH classes yet?

Thanks!
Jon
