POLICIES UPDATED: 5/27/2014

ALL RENTALS ARE LOCATED AT OUR 145 W 30TH ST. SPACE, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED

Thank you for your rental request. Here are the rental policies you should know:

Hours of operation are:
* Monday - Thursday: 12 - 10 PM
* Friday, Sunday: 12 - 9 PM
* Saturday: 12 - 7 PM

* Regular room rentals: $15/hr. Auditions: $30/hr. Keyboard rentals: additional $5 per hour. Rentals at our 520 8th Avenue space are $18/hr.

* Requests for current rental month accepted any time.

* Requests for upcoming month accepted starting on the 25th of current month. Example: Requests for February will be taken starting 12 AM, January 25th. Don't email earlier!

* Requests processed Monday - Friday from the hours of 9 AM - 5 PM, in order received.

* Request specific times and dates. Also indicate what the rental is for, how many people will be in the room, and if you prefer a classroom or writer’s room.

* Be patient! Do not call to ask about room availability or check on a pending request. We receive many requests and this will just delay us from booking your space.

* All renters must pay the rental fee at the front desk before entering their room. Failing to do so may result in rental privileges being revoked in the future.

* CANCELLATION POLICY: You must provide AT LEAST 48 HOURS NOTICE to cancel or owe the full rental fee.

* We reserve the right to bump you from your room rental to accommodate classes and workshops booked at the Training Center.

Out of curiousity... what are the dimensions of the rooms in the training center? Ceiling heights?

Most of our rooms are 18' X 21' and the ceilings are about 8' to 9' high.

Below is the updated general rental policy.

Thank you for your rental request. Here are the rental policies you should know:

* Regular room rentals are $15 per hour. Auditions are $30 per hour. If you'd like to rent a keyboard, it will be an additional $5 per hour.

* Requests are taken one month at a time on or after the 25th of the month. Example: Requests for February will be taken starting 12 AM, January 25th.

* Requests are processed Monday - Friday from the hours of 12 - 6 PM and in the order they were received. They will be processed within two business days.

* Request specific times and dates. You are more than welcome to put first, second, and third choices. This will allow us to book your space faster.

* Please be patient! Do not call to ask about room availability or check on a pending request. We receive many requests and this will just delay us from booking your space.

* All renters must check in and pay the rental fee before entering their room. Failing to do so may result in rental privileges being revoked in the future.

* CANCELLATION POLICY: If you or your group will not be able to use our space, you must provide AT LEAST 48 HOURS NOTICE. You will owe the FULL rental fee if you fail to do this.

* We reserve the right to bump you from your room rental to accommodate classes and workshops booked at the Training Center.

If you are booking either theatre for tech rehearsals, you should contact UCBT Head Tech Justin D'ambrosio (justin.dambrosio@gmail.com) or UCBeast Head Tech Pat Baer (patbaer@gmail.com). Don't send them to nycrental@ucbcomedy.com.

FREE ROOMS AND LOCK-IN BOOKINGS
------------------------------------------------------------

Lock-ins are rentals that take place after the Training Center closes. The lock-in hours begin at the times listed below:

Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday: 10:15 PM
Tuesday: 9:30 PM
Friday: 9 PM
Saturday: 6:45 PM
Sunday: 9:45 PM

So if your booking ends after those times, it's considered a lock-in.

Lock-in rentals and free rooms during the day are available ONLY to the following people:

- Current Harold, Maude, and BETA teams
- Weekend teams
- Shows with a current run at the theatre
- Performers on the UCB performer page working on their own projects
- Current UCB writers
- UCB office staff
- UCBT staff
- UCB Comedy

So, to clarify, lock-ins and free rooms during the day are NOT available to the following people:

- Students and interns
- Practice groups that you are coaching/teaching
- Shows/videos/etc. that you are working on that doesn't involve UCB performers
- Groups that you are in that don't have shows at UCB

We are sometimes flexible on this, but in general, those are the guidelines.

When requesting any type of space, please include the type of project you intend to use the space for. For example, emails should include notes like "I'm using this for a video shoot with a crew of four;" I'm using the room to rehearse for my one-person Spank;" "It's for Harold/Maude/BETA," etc.

Below are the lock-in policies I send any time there is a lock-in request to the nycrental@ucbcomedy.com account:

We have classes starting early everyday and it is important that the space be presentable for our students. Please follow these rules to help keep the Training Center ready for classes.

*Please keep your voices down before you enter your rooms. Classes shouldn't be disrupted by lobby noise.

*No garbage should be left in any small trash can. Put all your trash in the large garbage bin in the cleaning closet located next to the freight elevator.

*Turn off all lights when you are leaving. If there is another group still practicing, make sure to still turn off the lights in the room you were using.

*Put everything you use back in it's place - chairs, tables, etc.

*Expect and prepare to stay in the space until the end of your alotted time. Please refrain from using the stairwell to leave/return during any breaks.

*Kitchen is only for staff (teachers/paid staff/office interns). Sorry! It's a private area for those people and the dishes/food/equipment back there are not for general performer use.

*You MUST use the room you are booked in for your lock-in rental. (It should be listed under "Lock-ins" on the white board in the lobby.) Speak to the Front Desk admin first if you'd like to switch rooms.

*DO NOT PROP OPEN THE FIRE EXIT DOOR. If you have team members arriving late, you have to be there to let them into the floor.

*Violation of these requests could result in lock-in privileges being revoked.

MONTHLY BOOKINGS

If you are looking to book multiple rehearsals for an upcoming month, email nycrental@ucbcomedy.com on the 25th of the current month. For example, if you are looking for dates in August, you should email starting on the 25th of July.

For monthly bookings, Harold, Maude, and BETA teams are given priority, but only if you send an email on the 25th.

Also, in your email, don't list the dates chronologically. Instead, list them by the days of the week you are looking to book.

For example:

DO LIST DATES THIS WAY:

WEDNESDAYS
7/6 10 PM - 12 AM
7/13 10 PM - 12 AM
etc.

SUNDAYS
7/10 9:30 - 11:30 PM
7/17 9:30 - 11:30 PM
etc.

DON'T LIST DATES THIS WAY:

7/6 10 PM - 12 AM
7/10 9:30 - 11:30 PM
7/13 10 PM - 12 AM
7/17 9:30 - 11:30 PM

Doing so will get your request processed more quickly and will be less annoying for me to deal with.

Be aware that there's a good chance your booking will be bumped for a class if it's during normal class hours. (Not lock-ins.)

I see that the rooms are available to rent for video shoots- are they available for small photo shoots? 2-3 people?
