I completely agree with what Renlea said. I logged on here to post exactly the same thing -- I've been attempting to sign up for a class for a couple months now, unsuccessfully. I work a full time job and I have not yet been able to drop everything (phone call / meeting etc) in order to sign up for a class in <1 minute. I think a 15-60 minute grace period is a brilliant idea -- it would provide folks with time to wrap up what they are working on and arrange things so they can get on and register for the class.

I understand that we won't go back to the old system, but it did allow me to both work / take UCB classes. Right now they feel mutually exclusive I also agree that it feels icky (for lack of a better word) to make signing up easiest for people who have the flexibility to sit by their phone/computer all day.

Yes, this system is a disadvantage to anyone working 9 to 5s where A: It's frowned upon to be all up on your phone stalking Twitter instead of, say, working, B: There are firewalls or security measures that keep one from being able to discreetly stalk Twitter at one's desk, and C: They actually require you to work at your job and pay attention to that.

Believe it or not, there ARE people for whom comedy is their passion, but aren't fortunate enough to be meandering creatively through life in NYC with lots of free time during the day to keep an eye on such things.

What are the wait list options for a class that is sold out?
