Hey all,
I thought I'd begin a forum for all of us to share some thoughts about this class. We can cover various strategies to assist us in working through this new strange world of comedy. If you have some improv / theatre experience, then please describe what has helped you understand concepts about: building a scene, character, and whatever else that comes to mind. Conversely, if you don't have much improv experience, feel free to ask questions or shed light on something that relates.
To get this candle fired up, I thought I'd ask some questions.
Do you find establishing character and environment is difficult early on in the scene? What are some solutions / phrases that we can use to combat that issue?
What strategies could help to keep the scene focused? Further, how do you make sure to keep the scene in the present?
Best,
Mike Sloan
