Spammers Spamming

Hello!

I know that alot of you have been having problems with spammers on our board. Neil Casey and I are working on implementing a few upgrades that should help with them problem. You shouldn't be getting mass Private Messages anymore. If you do, please forward it to patbaer@ucbcomedy.com

I routinely check the boards for spam posts, but I occasionally miss one here and there. Sorry that the forums are sometimes messy with bullshit, but you know how hard it is to fight robots that want to sell you pills.

Actually, the amount of spam we get has decreased greatly. Robots posting 19 messages at once and private messaging everyone on this board has stopped.

We don't have a way of stopping real humans from creating an account and posting links to movie sites and anti Israel propaganda. I have to manually delete those posts, which I do several times a day.

Update: we've gotten an increase in spam lately. I'm trying to deal with it.

In an effort to help slow down the problem, I've made it so every user must wait 2 minutes between posts. It won't effect your reading of threads, or the number of posts you can make, it just adds a delay.

This will affect everyone except for Erik.

Hi everybody! You may have noticed that things look a little different today. Neil Casey has been working hard to update the boards, and this will hopefully help us further reduce the spam.

I hope this new template is to your liking, and that everyone uses this board for what it was designed for: promoting your podcast and asking Erik questions about upcoming classes.
