Hey gang!

I am a coach and that is just furiously true.

This is me:
http://newyork.improvteams.com/performe ... ustingrace

I've been studying at the UCB since 2006, and in that time have taken classes with the likes of Michael Delaney, Will Hines, Nate Dern, Laura Grey, Jordan Klepper, Curtis Gwinn, Becky Drysdale, Shannon O'Neill, and Ryan Karels. Plus a ton more.

Currently, I roll with indie teams Dog Court and Hell On Earth. Previously, I have been a member of Rat King and the 600 level shows Immediately Great and LaRontage. For the last three years, I've been coaching Control Top, an all-girl group at Barnard College, and it is so much fun I could burst. Circumstances are such the cast has a lot of turnover so it's like getting a new 101 class every September.

My big thing is that we often construct these narratives of "bad things we do" in scenes, and because our brains fixate more on negative information, we don't wind up noticing when we make very awesome simple moves that don't conform to them. All it takes is being aware of the ways in which your mind is already the world's best improviser. I'd like to teach you to love your instincts and help create an environment where you feel comfortable following them. I am also the sort of guy who would always rather see a perfectly played hilarious scene interrupted by a five minute tangent about types of floor grout, so there's that, too.

As of now, I'm available every night of the week except Thursdays. Hit me up at justin.eric.grace@gmail.com or 609-226-3176 if you want to try and get something going.

Okay!

Our 201 class met with Justin. This guy is good!! He has tons of energy and is super supportive. He really helped us start to look at how our brain gets in our way and how to deal with it. This helped to free us up. By the end of our 2 hours, all 6 of us were doing the best work we have done and were having a lot of fun.

My weeknights are open again and if you don't hire me I will just be talking improv to myself!

Hey guys!

I updated the original post here to reflect changes in my life since last time. I hope yours have been equally good.

I've been back coaching lately and I want to do more of it! I am available all weekdays except Tuesday after 5, and have weekends totally free until the last week in April.

Also, it has become clear to me that 85% of the teams who hire me are all-girl groups. I don't know what in these few lines of text is conveying to you that I have a facility for coaching them, but it is where most of my experience lies! If you or your friends are girls, check me out.
