Kate Sidley IMPROV COACH

Postby KateSidley » Mon Jun 18, 2012 4:23 pm

Hey folks! I am an established improviser and teacher from CT looking to set down some roots in NYC as a coach. In CT, I am a founding member of Sea Tea Improv http://www.seateaimprov.com which is now the premiere improv company in Connecticut. I’ve worked with students of all ages as a member of Sea Tea Improv, an Education Assistant at Hartford Stage, and a high school TEFL teacher with the Peace Corps (I’m happy to coach any Romanian speaking teams out there!). Also, I hold an MA in Theater History and Criticism from Brooklyn College and am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Theater at CUNY Graduate Center with a focus on improvisational comedy.

I’m a UCB’er (101-501+) and am currently on the Improvisation News Team (http://www.improvisationnews.com). I’ve coached improv students at Brooklyn College CUNY and write a blog on improv history called “Improvology” which was nominated for a 2012 INNY Award for Best Blog.

My coaching philosophy? Be physical. Be supportive. Be honest. Enjoy it.

You can find more info about me and my groups by finding me on FB (http://www.facebook.com/kate.sidley.9) or following me on Twitter @ImprovHistorian.

Since I’m looking to build up a coaching rep here in NYC, I’m happy to do first sessions for FREE! I have a flexible schedule (thanks to being a perpetual student), so shoot me an email at kate@seateaimprov.com to say hi if you’re interested in setting something up!

If you’ve come this far—thanks for reading this!

If you skimmed to the end—I’ll never know.

Thanks!
Kate
