PFFR TV Production Internship

Postby thomas-pffr » Wed Jan 09, 2013 2:27 pm

We are looking for smart, proactive interns for our upcoming production schedule and thought this would be a good place to look. Below I have included the posting with all the details.

'The Heart, She Holler' is a live-action soap opera about folk who ain’t never used soap or seen an opera.  It’s a satire on the emotional Hee-Hawification of America, set in a town so inbred, the folks have become almost supernaturally wrong. 'The Heart, She Holler' is produced by PFFR, creators of 'Wonder Showzen' and 'Delocated' and it's first season can be seen on Adult Swim.

Our interns will be assisting both the on-set crew and the behind the scenes production staff over a six weeks of shooting.  Interns may also assist staff during prep and wrap weeks, as sets are built on the soundstage.  We are looking for a commitment of 2-3 days/week, starting approximately on January 14 and running until April 29.   This is a unpaid internship except for a small travel stipend.

Responsibilities will include:
- Arriving early in the morning to help crew prepare breakfast and equipment
- Maintaining on-site office, including assembling tables, running power cables, clearing space for wardrobe, make-up and talent holding
- Locking up corners, stairwells and entry ways near soundstage
- Accompanying production staff to pick up equipment and supplies
- Firewatching open trucks and equipment
- Preparing for and cleaning up catered meals
- Assisting production assistants with craft service
- Procuring ice, supplies and other goods
- Breaking down on-location office upon wrap
- Miscellaneous filing and paperwork

We are searching for interns with:
- A positive, energetic, outgoing attitude
- Quick thinking problem solving
- Strong, clear communication
- The ability to work long, tiring hours on your feet
- A sincere interest in TV or film production
- Experience on a  film or TV set preferred, but not required

We're looking for eager, bright, motivated interns who want to learn the nuts and bolts of a TV production.  If you're looking to spend a few weeks just hanging out on a TV set then this opportunity is not for you.

Please reply to with your resume attached or in the body of the email, along with a brief cover letter explaining your interest in this position.  Please also tell us your favorite movie and/or television show with a short explanation of that choice.  Make sure to include appropriate contact info and please note you name in the subject heading.
