New Lloyd Teams/Harold Team Changes: Announced By Thursday, March 31st, 2016

You must be available for the audition times. No other audition times will be available. We will only add additional time if all slots fill up and there are still eligible individuals interested.

You also must be available for the First and Second Callback dates. If you are not available, for both dates, you should not audition. Failure to follow this request could result in being banned from future auditions.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

If you are interested in auditioning to be on a UCB Theatre Harold/Lloyd team you must meet the following criteria:

--Auditioners must be approved for Advanced Study classes and must have completed a UCB Theatre Multi-week (2 or more) Improv Class Between February 15th, 2015 and February 15th, 2016.

OR you were on a UCBT House Improv Team (Harold/Lloyd) between February 2014-February 2016 and you completed a multi-level class within the past year. (Feb 2015-Feb 2016)

There are NO EXCEPTIONS.

Here is some clarification on the eligibility:

If you are approved for Advanced Study Classes and the last class you took ended (final performance, or if no performance, final class) on February 15th, 2015 - hooray! You made the cut-off.

If you are approved for Advanced Study Classes and the last class you took ended (final performance, or if no performance, final class) on February 14th, 2015 - You are NOT eligible.

If you are approved for Advanced Study Classes and your multi-week class ends on February 15th, 2016 (final class or final show)- Hooray! You made the cut off.

If you are approved for Advanced Study Classes and your multi-week class ends on February 16th, 2016 (final class) - you are NOT eligible.

If you are not approved for Advanced Classes and your 401 ends on February 15th, 2016, you must get approval for Advanced Classes by February 26th, 12pm* (when sign-ups end).

If you are not approved for Advanced Classes and your 401 ends on February 16th, 2016, you are not eligible.

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR A SLOT UNLESS YOU ARE ELIGIBLE. Failure to follow this direction could result in you being banned from future auditions.

Audition Specifics:

First Round:

We will see groups of 8 people every 20 minutes. You will improvise 2 scenes in this audition. You do not/should not prepare anything in advance. This is an entirely improvised audition.

Bring a headshot/resume (stapled/glued) with you. If you do not have a headshot, a recent photograph will suffice. Please make sure the photo looks like you. Resume should be stapled to the Back of your headshot.

Please arrive at least 10 Minutes prior to your scheduled audition. If you are late or miss your scheduled audition slot, you will not be rescheduled.

Callback information will be given to those that get a callback.

How to Sign Up:

AS AN INDIVIDUAL
Sign-ups will take place in-person at the UCBTNY Training Center.

Sign-ups will begin Changed to Tuesday, February 16th, at 12pm.
Signs-up will end on Friday, February 26th at 12pm.

There are plenty of spots, so there is no need to line-up ahead of time.

UCBTNY Training Center Hours are as follows:

Mon-Friday 10am-10pm
Saturday - 12pm-6:30pm
Sunday 12pm -9:30pm

If you are interested in auditioning as an individual, you may only sign up for an available time slot on the sheet. There are no alternate times or options. Do not email/call/ask for an exception.

When signing up you will leave your name & email address on a sign-up sheet.

***NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED TO SIGN-UP FOR ANYONE ELSE- IF YOU WANT TO SIGN-UP FOR A SLOT YOU MUST COME IN PERSON TO THE UCBT TRAINING CENTER.***

AS A TEAM:

There will be no Team Auditions this year. Your team is welcome to sign up together in the same time slot, but you are signing up as individuals, and individuals can only sign themselves up, not any other members of their team (or friends etc).

LLOYD TEAM PROGRAM:
Lloyd Teams have a lifetime of roughly 1 year. This is an opportunity for improvisers to rehearse every week and perform twice a month on the UCBT stage to grow as improvisers and learn how to work successfully in a collaborative situation. Consider this a Visa that allows performers to visit a really cool country for a year. After a year all visas expire and all Lloyd Teams are retired. There is no guarantee that a Lloyd Performer will be placed on a new Lloyd team or moved to a Harold Team. This is a one year program.

If you have any questions, read the post again to make sure you didn’t miss the answer. If after you read it again you still have a question, post it in this message board thread. DO NOT CALL, DO NOT EMAIL. Only questions answered by the AD are official answers.

Please be patient waiting for a response if you are posting questions over the holidays.

Hi,
I noticed that some of the auditions and the 2nd callback is scheduled during work hours (for some of us). While I can take one day off for a callback, do the Lloyd teams regularly require practice or performance during regular work hours?
Thanks!

Lloyd teams figure out when they can rehearse based on everyone's schedule. Many rehearse in the evening, some have rehearsed during the day if everyone on the team had that flexibility in their schedules.

Does this mean that in the event of getting a callback we should clear our entire Saturday (i.e. take off work entirely) as we will be needed potentially for the whole day/at any time without much notice? Or just that a time will be allotted to us at that may be at anywhere in that range but we would know in advance and could potentially plan around?

Thanks one million.

If someone receives a Callback they will be assigned a 30 minute slot anywhere between 11am-7pm.
These slots are assigned by the Artistic Director and can not be moved around/rescheduled.
