DCM Indie Improv Tournament 2016

Postby Apruzzese » Wed May 25, 2016 12:29 pm

The UCBTNY is excited to announce the DCM Indie Improv Tournament 2016!

The tournament is for NY based Indie teams who will square off against one another for a slot in this year's Del Close Marathon! It will be held the week of DCM (6/20-6/23) and it will be hosted by the previous winner, Debaser!

The winner will get a slot TBD at DCM18.

Your team is only eligible for this tournament if:

-Your team applied, but was not selected for DCM 18.
-Your team is available for all the scheduled dates/times for matches in the tournament.
-Your team regularly practices with a coach (Don't lie, because we'll be checking, baby!).
-Your team is not associated with any theatre (UCB, PIT, Magnet) this is for INDIE teams.

The rules of the tournament are as follows:
-24 teams enter. There will be 3 rounds (24, 6, 2).
-All matches will be decided by audience vote (no judges).
-Every team gets 15 minutes per set each round until the last round, where they will get 20.
-If there is a tie both teams will do 5 minute sets which the audience will vote for again.
-Players can only be on one team. Meaning: if you're on multiple indie teams, you can only apply with one.
-There will be a "cage match" clock on or around stage that will determine the blackout.
