UCBT is currently seeking a House Manager for our Hell's Kitchen location. This is a part-time, hourly position.

Key responsibilities for the position will include:
• Ensures the safety of the patrons, performers and interns at the theatre. This includes, but is not limited to, knowledge and practice of provisions provided by the FDNY with relation to running a Place of Assembly.
• Opens and closes the theatre
• Oversees all interns and staff on duty. Escalates issues to proper department head when necessary.
• Ensures that performances start on time. Communicates with performers and technicians.
• Enforces all UCB policies, including ticket and show policies.
• Handles issues that arise with customers. Enforces all theatre rules, policy and procedure. Monitors for
potential issues with patrons. Ensures Company alcohol sales policy compliance on site. Must be visible and
be mindful of any suspicious activity.
• Handles patron complaints about theatre policy, capacity issues, or noise issues inside and outside of the
theatre. Escalates complaints or suggestions as needed
• Enters last minute comps for performers and taping seats if necessary
• Insures that all shows start on time and all performers are ready to go before showtime
• Counts money and disperses banks to employees (box office, bartenders) and completes nightly closeout
• Responsible for environmental control. Inside; heating, cooling and lighting as appropriate for the conditions.
Outside; lines are orderly, crowds dispersed and quiet after 11 pm, discourage littering and loitering and
sidewalks left clean
• Accurately and regularly logs and properly documents any incident reports and insurance reports as required
by Company policy

SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS
• Strong writing and verbal communications skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail while handling large crowds
• Organization, neatness and confidence in running a venue.
• Professional and enthusiastic demeanor, and an understanding of the value of cooperation.
• Fireguard Certifications are required for employment as a House Manager
• Must be able to lift gate to open and close theatre. Approx. 30lbs.
• Must be able to move/ascend/descend a ladder
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Occasionally moves/ascends/descends a ladder
