Hello UCB! Consider this your "Save the Date" for the next round of Harold/Mess Hall Team auditions! Sign-ups and further details will be available in August.

***Please read this post in its entirety before asking questions. Only questions answered by the Artistic Director or Artistic Assistant in this thread will be considered official answers.***

***Please do not ask questions about eligibility or auditions in Facebook groups, via email, or to any UCB Theatre or Training Center employees.***

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Everyone meeting ONE of the following three requirements will receive an audition:

1) You have been accepted in the UCB Advanced Study Improv Program and have taken any multi-week improv course at the UCB Training Center in LA/NY that had/has its final class between August 31, 2016 and October 1, 2017.

-OR-

2) Are a current or former Harold / Maude / Digital / Characters Welcome Team member that has taken a multi-week improv course since August 31, 2015 that had/has its final class before October 1, 2017.

-OR-

3) Were on a Mess Hall Team since October 2016.

ELIGIBILITY EXCEPTIONS
Exceptions will be granted to the above eligibility on a very limited basis. No one should expect to get an exception. There will, however, be a separate form for those seeking exceptions to the above eligibility requirements. This includes anyone in a class that has its final session close to the sign-up deadline or a class that has its final session after the sign-up deadline of August 27 but before October 1.

Exceptions will be granted based on space available.

MUSICAL MESS HALL
The next round of Mess Hall Teams will NOT include a musical team.

Again, the above dates are all approximate and tentative. Please check back for more information in August!

Regarding the eligibility exceptions: if someone is currently enrolled in a 401 which has its final class the last week of August, will there be a form available soon to apply for an exception to apply to advanced study and/or audition?

Thanks!

ANSWER: Please refer to the "Exception" section in the original post. As far as applying for Advanced Study, you'd need to contact the training center.

Where does Character 101 or 201 fall on the Improv class spectrum, especially if taken by someone accepted into Advanced Study Improv? In class it's mostly improv then performing written characters, often based off of class improv.
